Message:
Acknowledge your emotions as they arise today, and allow them to be felt fully.
We often move through our days managing, minimizing, or outright avoiding our emotions - especially the uncomfortable ones. Grief, frustration, longing, or even joy can be met with resistance when they threaten to disrupt our routines or challenge our sense of control. But emotions are not obstacles to get around; they are messengers to welcome in.
Today, I invite you to pause.
Notice what’s stirring in you - even if it’s subtle. Maybe it’s a quiet ache behind the busyness, or an undercurrent of gratitude rising unexpectedly. Maybe it’s anger, knocking loudly on the door of your heart, asking to be heard. Whatever it is, meet it with compassion. No fixing. No spiritual bypassing. Just presence. Note and notice.
As a pastor, a mom, an athlete, and a business owner, I know how tempting it is to push through. But I've learned (sometimes the hard way) that pushing through without feeling through leaves us disconnected and depleted. We cannot be whole if we are constantly cutting ourselves off from what we feel.
Let today be a practice in wholeness.
Reflection Prompt:
What emotions are surfacing for you right now, and how can you allow them to flow through you?
Take a few deep breaths. Write what you feel, not what you think you should feel. Let the page hold it with you.
May you greet each emotion with compassion,
Even the ones that feel heavy or hard.
May you trust that every feeling has a purpose,
And that by allowing it to move through you,
You are making space for healing, clarity, and peace.
May today be a soft place to land - for your heart, your thoughts, and your spirit.
You are held. You are human. You are whole.
