“Not all who wander are lost.” – J.R.R. Tolkien
Wandering is often misunderstood as aimlessness or confusion.
But sometimes, wandering is a sacred part of the journey - an unfolding exploration where guidance comes not from certainty but from trust.
Tolkien’s words remind us that even when the path isn’t clear, we are still moving forward, growing, and being shaped.
Trusting the Unknown
How might your spiritual journey include seasons of wandering—of not knowing exactly where you’re headed?
What if wandering is itself a form of wisdom, inviting curiosity and openness rather than fear?
🌿 Reflection Prompt 🌿
🌀 How can you embrace the unknown and trust that every part of your spiritual journey is leading you to exactly where you need to be?
🌀 What would it feel like to wander without fear?
🌀 How can you lean into faith and openness when the way feels uncertain?
A Prayer for Trust in the Journey
Faithful God,
When the path before me is unclear,
help me to trust Your guiding hand.
Grant me courage to wander without fear,
and eyes to see Your presence in every step.
May I find peace in the unknown,
knowing You are always with me.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Small Practices to Embrace Wandering
Take a slow, unplanned walk and notice where your feet take you without a set destination.
Journal about a time you trusted the unknown and how it shaped you.
Practice a breath prayer, repeating “God is with me” as you breathe in and out.
When feeling uncertain, pause and name one small thing you are grateful for in the moment.
Not all wandering is lost - sometimes it’s exactly where transformation begins.
